Tulum has a high-end boutique shopping scene like no other. Sure Pueblo has some of the cheesy Mexican street vendor style stores that you see in touristy Cancun and Playa del Carmen, but there are plenty of beautiful shops for fashion mavens to spend some serious money. Read more about the differences between Pueblo and the beach here. Since we are currently carrying all of our belongings on our backs, we don’t really have room for more clothes, but this doesn’t mean I can’t window shop my heart out! Below are our top tiendas, no matter your style Tulum shopping will not disappoint.
This set up is quintessential Tulum. The clothes are literally hanging in the jungle. Think $100 USD dresses aside palm trees. Caravana carries hippie chic fashion essentials in earth tones. They also have a pop up shop on Isla Holbox.
This clothing and skincare store is a dream. At least stop by to sample some of their natural eco-chic products. My recommended buy: a natural bug spray made from essential oils.
We were always waiting for the collective in front of WildSea so I couldn’t help but take a look. Minimalist style meets beach chic in this adorable clothing and accessories boutique.
Make your Palm Springs dreams come true with this SoCal-esque store carrying donut floats, “good vibes only” phone cases, and Chubbies type swim trunks.
These no name tiendas are all over the main avenue and you wonder how they stay in business when they carry all of the same things! Haggling is the name of the game. I bought a hat and a cute pom-pom keychain to tie on to my backpack.
Even if you aren’t usually a shopper on vacation, Tulum’s boutiques deserve to be admired. There are several others I didn’t mention carrying everything from clothes and bikinis, to pillows and giant dreamcatchers (how do people fly home with those!?) Stop in to browse and I’m sure you’ll be impressed by the many Tulum shopping options.
